Prayer

The following prayers were developed by Latter-day Saint Chaplains on active duty. The format varies according to the event. On a ship, the evening prayers usually start with a thought that pertains to the activities of the day ending with a prayer.

Many times commanders will ask you to see your prayers before a ceremony. One chaplain would go to his office and ask Father in prayer what He wanted him to say and then write the prayer out for review by the Command.

Normally prayers are generic in format in that your audience may not be Christo- centric. Be sensitive to the event where the prayer will take place.
