Program Requirements
The MA Chaplaincy program is designed to be completed in two years, beginning in the spring term following admission to the program. Opportunities for students wishing to move at a slower pace are also available.
Course List
Students will complete a minimum of 72 credits while in the program.
- 27 credits of Religious Education
- 21 credits of Chaplaincy-Specific Courses
- 6 credits of Clinical Pastoral Education
- 3 credits of Project
- 15 credits in the following areas: Social Work and Counseling Psychology.
Clinical Pastoral Education
Students will complete 1 unit of Clinical Pastoral Education.
Project
Students will create a project (usually a 25–35 page paper) that demonstrates their knowledge and understanding in a particular area of interest. Projects have a practical focus and are ministry centered.
